Ireland Jameson, 3/17/2005 - 6/28/2013 Small Cam

From that May day in 2008 until 7:45 a.m. June 28, 2013, Ireland was my shining light. A puppy mill mom who had been abused and tossed out after her usefulness at age three, she was sent to be euthanized. I got her instead.

Deaf and blown out knees had doomed her and she was deemed useless. She was so far from that that there simply are no words. When a friend needed a snuggly dog to hold, Ireland is the one I sent.

She brought me more joy in these past five years that I would have ever believed possible.

After her knees were replaced, she looked like a hockey player in her bandages and casts-so freakin’ adorable.. When the casts were removed, she chased her sister around the yard with glee.

The story of her knees is a miracle in itself. I took her almost 100 miles north so a vet who worked with rescue groups could do discount surgery. They gave me a price of $800 so I went to Louisiana with $200 and brought back $800. The day of the surgery, they told me that that was just for one knee. They said that was all they could do. I told them to go ahead and I would borrow or steal the money since I really did not have it.  When I got home, I had a message from them that another rescue group, who wished to remain anonymous, had picked up ALL remaining costs.

When we ran from Hurricane Ike she was terrified. I only had her for three months. Deaf and new to my family-we were now running from a killer storm to be in a house with seven other humans and four other dogs. She bit every one of us at least once. She has gone from that horrible life to one of the most loving and trusting angels in the universe.

She had an insatiable appetite for toys. She would bring them to me on the bed and I would toss them many times. She wore me out so I would toss her toys in a drawer by the bed. She loved to play.

Her world travels took her from Galveston to Dallas to Lubbock to Fredricksburg to Enchanted Rock and here and there around this great state. Her favorite place was sunning in her back yard in Clear Lake.

God welcomed you across the Rainbow Bridge this morning-run free my angel. Run fast with Cagney and Annie Jameson and cousin Annie O’Neil. You were and you are loved. Thanks to Dr. Philip Petersen and the staff at Clear Creek Animal Hospital for loving you and caring for you. Sixteen days from diagnosis to death. Cancer sucks.
Wynette Jameson

Jan O'Neil I don't ever remember Ireland causing her family a moment of grief. Probably the best dog ever. Never made messes, never cried, never chewed, never ran away. Even cousin Annie can't top that. Farewell is not goodbye, Ireland.

Izzy, 05/20/09 - 02/04/13 Small Cam

Izzy was killed by a hit and run driver on April 2nd 2013. She was simply a sweet gentle little girl , loved by myself , my husband and her brother CC who is just bereft.

She was a happy playful girl , loved tennis balls , they are still all around the house, a daily reminder of what some uncaring person has taken away from us.

We love you so much little girl , we hope you are happy wherever you are.
