Nearly 18 years was not enough time with you our big white boy. We'll miss you always, until we all meet once again at the Bridge.

Queenie, 02/21/04

Today will be a hard day. I must go and pick out an urn in which to bring Queenie home for the last time. She was cremated yesterday, two days after her death. Queenie was a Greyhound, a retired racer who took to life in the "not-so-fast lane" quite well. When we adopted her about four years ago, I had never seen a Greyhound in person, much less lived with one. The experience has changed my life, and that of my children. To be more exact, Queenie changed our lives. She was loving, patient, loyal and, at times, quite funny. She was our friend and she will be missed for a long, long time. We will miss the nose-prints on the windows and the funny way she slept on her back on the couch. We will miss competing for space in the bed at night. We will miss those big, brown eyes. We will miss the jubilant greetings each time we arrived home. I just pray that Queenie knows we were as happy to see her as she was to see us. Farewell, Queenie. Your race is over and you were the greatest of all time in our eyes. Thank you for blessing our lives with yours. We will love you forever.

Queen Watusi Kitten of Love, aka: Zippy, Nearly 14-02/29/04

Zippy was a beloved companion for nearly 14 years. She came to live with me when she was just a kitten, in the summer of 1990. We had a good, long, and loving relationship. She was the best friend anyone could ask for. Last summer we found out she had diabetes and treated her daily with insulin injections. Just about one week ago she took ill, and developed a liver problem. We had a feeding tube inserted to assist with her nutritional needs, but it was time for her to go along. She took her final week to snuggle with me and purr while being brushed. Today was her final exit. She is deeply missed and will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart.

Quila, 11/21/88-04/01/04

I'll never forget when I first saw you, calmly sitting in the corner while all the other kittens played at my feet. Your head was cocked to one side as you stared at me with those big copper eyes. I knew then you were for me. thank you for 15 wonderful years. I miss you deeply.
